But this expansion of choice can create new challenges as well as opportunities. Audiences report some difficulties with finding and accessing content that meets their needs, both on digital television and online. Not all audiences currently benefit from access to online services, whether by choice or by exclusion. Ensuring easy access to and ‘discoverability’ of public service content is likely to become increasingly important in a digital age.
