Ofcom is the UK's Communications regulator, and one of our jobs is to produce an annual statistical review of the UK communications market.
The 2008 Communications Market Report is is the fifth of these annual reports to focus on trends and developments in the UK’s communications market, with the aim of providing a context for decision-making by Ofcom, as well as by commercial and public service organisations.
In the first Communications Market Report which we published in 2004 we highlighted a market which was going through rapid change. Five years on and many of these developments have gained pace. However, the story of the communications sector is not simply the unstoppable march of new technology and the replacement of the old with the new, and the report highlights the resiliance of traditional media.
We want as many people as possible to engage with the analysis in the report, hence this experimental trial, which is an interactive version of the Key points contained in the full report and summarises the main findings from our work.
We will read all comments to this experimental site before they are published, so there may be a delay before your comment appears on the blog, and we retain the right not to publish any of the comments which are left. Submission of any comments does not necessarily mean that you will receive a response; should you require a response to any points made, please email them to: market.intelligence@ofcom.org.uk.
We ask that your comments are relevent to the issues raised in the Key Points of the report. Please read this blog's House Rules and the terms and conditions before commenting.
